La Liga Matchday 21/38

Matchday 21 in La Liga started off on January 25th 2020, containing within itself a temporary change in the title race, with FC Barcelona losing 2-0 to Valencia CF, and a close win for contenders Real Madrid CF against Real Valladolid. This has led to a swap in positions within the points table, with Real Madrid CF leading the title race by just 3 points, ahead of rivals FC Barcelona.

For all those Madridistas celebrating their success, it is to be kept in mind that the lead is not yet established by a big margin. Also, for FC Barcelona, it is to be seen only as a starting trouble under new manager Quique Setien, which will be resolved soon.

Sevilla FC have claimed their place in 3rd, with Getafe CF successfully staying in the top four.

This week’s top performer in my eyes would have to be Maxi Gomez, who grabbed a brace against FC Barcelona. It is to be noted that teams like Atletico Madrid and Celta De Vigo have not had any stints of brilliance throughout the season, as seen among other teams.

European Football

This term has been more recent, but it seems as if it has been around for a long time. Don’t worry I’m not gonna talk about the history of European football or anything, but to just let you know, the very much reputed and competitive UEFA Champions League was made in the late 20th century.

Football nerds need no reminder that Spain’s Real Madrid FC have been the competition’s most celebrated winners, followed by various illustrious clubs like AC Milan, Liverpool FC, FC Barcelona, FC Bayern Munchen and many more. But it is also to be remembered that times have changed, so have many aspects of the game.

Over here, I will be giving my opinions on those many aspects, and will try my best to voice my opinions on other matters related to the game. So stay tuned!
